Chair of the IAPR Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Committee Maria De Marsico, Sapienza University of Rome, Italy
Maria de Marsico is a full professor at the Dipartemento di Informatica, Sapienza University of Rome, Italy. Her main research interests are biometric systems, multimodal human-computer interaction and their interplay in smart ambients. She is Editor-in-Chief for Special Issues of Pattern Recognition Letters, and Chair of the IAPR Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Committee.
KS Fu Award winner 2024 and Industry representative Tin Kam Ho, IBM Research, USA
Tin Kam Ho has been an AI researcher in industrial labs for over 30 years, first at Bell Labs and now in IBM Research. She is a pioneer in research on multiple classifier systems and ensemble learning and is currently working on generative AI for computing. Over the years, she has taken several management positions supervising research and engineering teams. She was the Editor in Chief for Pattern Recognition Letters during 2004-2010.
Senior Academia Sushmita Mitra, Indian Statistical Institute, Kolkata, India
Sushmita Mitra is a senior professor at the Machine Intelligence Unit, Indian Statistical Institute, Kolkata. She received the University Gold Medal in 1988, followed by numerous awards over the years. She is a Fellow of the IAPR, IEEE, and of all four academies of India. She serves as a Member of the Inter-Academy Panel for Women in STEMM. She has visited more than 30 countries as a Plenary/Invited Speaker or an academic visitor.
Maria Petrou Award winner 2024 Guoying Zhao, University of Oulu, Finland
Guoying Zhao is a full Professor at the Centre for Machine Vision and Signal Analysis, University of Oulu, Finland. She is a Fellow of IAPR and IEEE. She has authored or co-authored almost 350 papers in journals and conferences with 30 thousand citations. She is tutorial chair for this current ICPR 2024. Her current research interests include image and video description, facial-expression recognition, biometrics and multimodal learning.
